I have a presentation tomorrow in my translation class and I have to explain every choice I made to translate this text,any suggestions?
Yes Saleh I'm talking to you,help please! :(
Original text:

My Translation:
World Meteorological Organization announced that the year 2010 was one of the hottest years,confirming an obvious tendency to global warming over the long term.

The international organization said in a statement that the past year has witnessed an elevation in temperature that equals the one in 2005 and 1998, thus confirming the preliminary report published earlier in December on the basis of a period of ten months during the United Nations Conference in Cancún on climate change.

The report added that the great weather volatility led to some consequences such as floods that occurred in Pakistan and forest fires in Russia.

"The data of the year 2010 confirms the apparent rise in temperature of the earth over the long term." said Michel Jarraud at a news conference.

"The past decade was the warmest” He added,referring that he witnessed the continuous melting of ice in Arctic,where temperature reached its lowest point

Experts Are Concerned

Global warming is concerning the experts of climate change. Most ecologisits attribute that to emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere due to the combustion of fuel used to run the machines and factories.

The organization,whose headquarters is located in Geneva- referred that the past year,that witnessed heat waves in Russia and elsewhere,and floods in other regions like Pakistan that countinued until this year,it also referred to to similar phenomena in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Brazil and Australia.

Last year also witnessed heavy rainfall, however rainfall and snow distribution pattern was different from place to another,therfore the connection between the rise of temperature and the rise of humidity should be studied by scientists as the organization suggests.

Paragraph 1:
The use of "trend" is better than "tendency". I also would use "warmest" rather than "hottest".
==>
"World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ... warmest years, confirming a clear long-term trend of global warming."

Paragraph 2:
Make use of "WMO" instead of the "International organisation". Also I would use "a temperature increase which is equivalent to those " rather than "an elevation in temperature that equals the one in".
Use "based on a ten-month period" rather than "on the basis of a period of ten months". Use the proper name of the conference: "United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico".

Paragraph 3:
Use "weather variations" rather than "weather volatility" (there is no such term anyway). Use the article "the" before the "floods" and before the "forest fires" as those are specific events.

Paragraph 4:
The word "data" is plural. I would also use "long-term temperature rise" rather your words. I think it is better if use "Earth" with a capital letter. Use a comma before the closing quote.
==>
"The data of the year 2010 confirm the apparent long-term temperature rise of the Earth," said Michel Jarraud at a news conference.

Paragraph 5:
Again another comma is missing before the closing quote and "He" should be "he".
==>
"The past decade was the warmest,” he added, referring to the continuous ice melting in the Arctic, where temperature reached its lowest levels.
NOTE: I think this statement is wrong. It should be "... where sea-ice reached its lowest levels." (ice not temperature).

Subtitle:
Use "Experts Concern" (or "The Concern of Experts") rather than "Experts Are Concerned"

Paragraph 6:
I would use simple present rather than the continuous tense. Note the type in "ecologists". Use "machinery" instead of "machines".
==>
"Global warming concerns the climate change experts. Most ecologists attribute that to emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere due to the combustion of fuel used to run the machinery and factories."

Paragraph 7:
Personally, I did not like "The organization, whose headquarters is located in Geneva.." (if you insist you need to do something with "headquarters is"). I would go for "The Geneva based organisation, noticed ..." or "The organisation, which is located in Geneva, noticed ..." (yes replace "referred" by "noticed"). Use the word "events" rather than "phenomena". Remember to keep your English sentences as short as possible.
I did not like the Arabic structure of this paragraph which impacted your translation. I would use something like:
"The Geneva based organisation, noticed that the extreme events of last year, like the heat waves in Russia and elsewhere, and the floods in other regions like Pakistan, continued this year as well. It also referred to similar events in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Brazil and Australia."

Paragraph 8:
Again stick to short sentences. Use "relation" rather than "connection". I would use "increase" instead of "rise".

"Last year also witnessed heavy rainfall. However, the rainfall and snow distribution at various places did not follow an specific pattern. Therefore, the organisation suggests that the relation between the increase in temperature and the increase in humidity should be studied by scientists.

Sorry that I was not able to justify all my choices due to the time limit. If you have time have a look at:

If I may...I'm sorry but I couldn't but butt in, please don't publish/ignore if this is isn't what you meant

World Meteorological Organization announced that the year 2010 was one of the hottest years, confirming an obvious increase in earth temperature on then long run.

In a statement issued by the international organization: "the past year has witnessed an elevation in temperature that equals the one in 2005 and 1998", confirming the preliminary report published earlier in December on the basis of a period of ten months during the United Nations Conference in Cancún on climate change.

The report also added that the weather volatility led to floods in Pakistan and forest fires in Russia.

Michel Jarraud said at a news conference: "The data of the year 2010 confirms the apparent rise in temperature of the earth over the long term."

"The past decade was the warmest” He added, with reference to the continuous  ice melting in the arctic where temperatures reached its lowest point.( I think it should be highest levels)

Experts Are Concerned

Global warming is of concern to the experts on climate change. Most ecologisits attribute that to the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, specifically the combustion of fuel used to run machines and factories.

The organization, headquartered in Geneva noticed the continuation of the heat waves in Russia and other regions, floods in Pakistan that countinued until this year, it also noticed similar incidents in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Brazil and Australia.

Last year also witnessed heavy rainfall, however rainfall and snow distribution pattern was different from one location to another ,therfore the connection between the rise of temperature and the rise of humidity should be studied by scientists as the organization suggests.

Saleh and Dot,I'm really glad my presentation was delayed till Sunday,now I have more time to look at your suggestions and review it again..
thank you both so much,these suggestions are great...and I noticed too that the paragraph with the thing about temperature reaching the lowest point must be wrong..but I'm a translator not an expert and I'm not allowed to correct it

Again yeslamo kteer,I owe you guys! :)
